The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) arrested a man impersonating the Personal Assistant to the County Secretary of Nairobi City County.
In a statement released on X on Wednesday, September 25, the commission said William Otieno Okoth solicited a bribe of Ksh 100,000 from the complainant seeking a job opportunity for his wife.
According to EACC, Okoth claimed that the payment would enable him to assist the complainant's wife secure a job as a cleaner in the County Government.
The commission said the suspect deceived the complainant into believing that, as the "PA to the CS," he had influence over County affairs and would arrange for the issuance of an employment letter in exchange for the bribe.
Following this encounter, the complainant reported the matter to EACC which conducted an operation that culminated in the suspect's arrest.

Okoth was apprehended outside Trattoria Restaurant in the Central Business District after taking the bribe which he referred to as "tea".
Following his arrest, Okoth was then taken to the EACC Integrity Centre Police Station for processing and later transferred to Kilimani Police Station.
Elsewhere, EACC is set to commence investigations into the bank accounts of former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero following a ruling issued by the Court of Appeal in Nairobi.
In a statement on Wednesday, September 25, the commission said that the Appellant Court dismissed a petition Kidero filed over EACC's access to his accounts.
EACC indicated that its officers intended to investigate the source of wealth of the former governor.
"The Court of Appeal (Musinga, Makhandia & Kantai, JJA) sitting in Nairobi has dismissed a Petition filed by former Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero seeking to stop EACC from investigating his bank accounts. The Judgement was delivered on Friday, 20th September 2024.
"Kidero moved to the High Court in 2016 after EACC obtained Orders from the Chief Magistrate’s Court to access multiple bank accounts linked to the Governor on investigations into allegations of corruption, economic crimes and unexplained wealth allegedly amassed during his tenure as Nairobi Governor and Managing Director of Mumias Sugar Company," the statement read.
Kidero is facing allegations of corruption and economic crimes reported to have happened while serving as the county boss and the MD of Mumias Sugar.
