The authority revealed that many motorists were yet to collect their number plates and logbooks.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has raised concern over the growing number of uncollected number plates and logbooks.

In a statement dated Thursday, September 26, the authority revealed that the uncollected items ran to thousands.

Motorists were, therefore, advised to collect the items at the various collection points selected during the application.

"Thousands of Number plates and Logbooks remain uncollected across NTSA offices," the authority directed.

"The Authority directs motor vehicle owners companies, dealers and financial institutions to collect reflective number plates and logbooks from the centres identified during the application process."

Additionally, motorists were directed to carry relevant documentation when picking the items.

For instance, those picking number plates need to submit their old number plates and their identification documents. For logbooks, motorists need to have previous logbooks and identification documents.

Further, the authority reiterated its commitment to give timely services to Kenyans. According to NTSA, production of the new number plates takes 7 working days.

Processing of a logbook takes 3 working days.
