Kisumu County First Lady Dorothy Nyong'o has been appointed to the Africa Breast Cancer Council.
Through a statement on his X account on Thursday, October 17, Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o announced that the first lady was appointed to the body to advocate for the continent's cancer issues.
The governor congratulated his wife, indicating that the appointment recognized her advocacy work in the healthcare sector.
"Congratulations to Mama Kisumu, Dorothy Nyong’o, on your appointment to the Africa Breast Cancer Council," read the statement in part.

"Your work alongside such a distinguished group of women will be instrumental in driving vital policy changes and improving access to care for women affected by breast cancer."
The Kisumu First Lady is a Public Relations consultant and has a vast background in media and advocacy.
She has also been involved in health advocacy in Kisumu County, in the country and on the continental stage.
"She holds an Executive MSc in Organisational Development from the United States International University (Nairobi), a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communications and a BA Hons (French, Political Science) from the University of Nairobi."
