South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro was arrested at Simeon Nyachae's funeral service at Gusii Stadium.
The legislator was nabbed for allegedly planning to disrupt the ceremony.
Osoro, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, claims the arrest is politically motivated.
His arrest came shortly after Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi was also arrested for undisclosed reasons.
Maangi's aides said the DG was waiting to welcome Deputy President William Ruto to the burial of politician Simeon Nyachae.

On Sunday former Kisii Town Mayor Samuel Omwando alongside an unknown number of youths were arrested and held for questioning.
