Lawyer Nelson Havi has suggested that Kithure Kindiki will be fought during his tenure as Deputy President which is set to begin today.
In an update on X on Friday, November 1, the lawyer wished Kindiki luck as he assumed his new role. However, he noted that the same people who propelled him to the office would oppose him.
"I wish Kindiki Kithure good luck in his new assignment as Deputy President. I say luck for several reasons. Prayers did not help his predecessor. I believe God does not listen to deceitful prayers. Further, he will be fought by the same people who propelled him this far," Havi opined.

Kindiki is set to be sworn in as Deputy President on November 1, 2024, following the High Court's decision to lift a conservatory order that had delayed his inauguration.
This order was initially imposed due to a legal challenge from his predecessor, Rigathi Gachagua, who was impeached amid allegations of misconduct.
Justices Eric Ogola, Freda Mugambi, and Anthony Mrima emphasized the need for continuity in the deputy president's role saying allowing the conservatory orders would leave the office of the DP vacant.
"We are convinced and find that the current constitutional framework does not envision any scenario in which the office of the DP would remain vacant except during the brief period required to fill a vacancy. Not even the Speaker of the National Assembly can perform the functions of the Deputy President as prescribed in the constitution," Justice Mrima said.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi was appointed as the Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary following Kindiki's nomination as Deputy President.
Mudavadi's appointment was formalized in a gazette notice on October 31, 2024, allowing him to oversee the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
