“It seems you appeared before us just to tick the box that you honoured the summon. The information you have provided to our enquires is very shallow and by failing to give us detailed information on the deal you also fail to help the public understand what this deal all is about,” the Committee chair Abdi Shurie noted.
Among the information, MPs are seeking include the decision by the government to have Adani take over JKIA instead of building a new airport.
“As the PS Transport you ought to help the government explain exactly what is happening in all Public Private Partnerships," read the committee report.
"The Express Way that all Kenyans now appreciate is a product of a PPP but the contractor did not interfere with other roads under the Express Way. So, you should tell us why Adani want to take over our existing Airport and not construct one from the start,”
Meanwhile, in his Thursday appearance, the PS revealed that the proposed deal was not being implemented owing to orders that were issued by the courts.
