President William Ruto has mourned Homa Bay County Principal Chaplain Pastor Raphael Obego who passed away on Wednesday, November 6.
In a statement on Thursday, November 7, President Ruto described Pastor Obego as a dedicated servant of God and a prayer warrior.
The Head of State noted that the deceased pastor as a light-hearted faith leader whose sermons who clear and authentic.
"Pastor Raphael Obego was a dedicated servant of the Lord and a prayer warrior. He was a light-hearted faith leader whose sermons were not only provoking and evocative but also clear and authentic. Our prayers are with the Obego family and his congregation in Homa Bay County at this difficult time," President Ruto remarked.
Pastor Obego is remembered for leaving the Head of State in stitches at a past event after delivering a prayer filled with elaborate vocabulary.

During the Homa Bay International Investment Conference in February this year, Pastor Obego took to the podium to offer a prayer, which he delivered in unusually complex English.
As he gave the prayer, President Ruto struggled to hold back laughter, while other attendees, including Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, burst out in laughter.
Meanwhile, Governor Wanga has mourned the deceased pastor as a man who touched lives with his compassion, guidance and unwavering faith.
"We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend and County Chaplain Pastor Raphael Obengo. Pastor Raphael touched our lives with his compassion, guidance, unwavering faith and positivity. His dedication to serving the county government and people of Homa Bay will forever be remembered," Wanga remarked.
