"We can't have a president who thinks democracy ends with his/her election," Junet Mohamed.

Suna East Member of Parliament (MP) Junet Mohamed now says President William Ruto cannot stop any demos.

In a statement via Twitter on Tuesday, December 6, the lawmaker maintained that they had not planned demos but public consultation forums.

"Whereas we've planned no demos, it is important to remind Ruto that even if that was the case, he still would have done nothing about it. He cannot stop any demos in Kenya. We can't have a president who thinks democracy ends with his/her election.

"Interior CS seems excited by his new job. Kenya is littered with men who served before him; who showed more hubris than he is currently displaying. We expect the security he deploys to our meetings to be commensurate to the needs of the meetings, and no more," Junet said.

This comes hours after the National Police Service said it would provide adequate security for the planned Azimio rallies.

However, the police urged the attendants to maintain peace.

"However, any breach of the peace shall be dealt with in accordance with the law," NPS stated.
