A huge fire has destroyed structures at Nyayo Market in Ngara, Nairobi, leaving traders counting their losses.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, December 1, saw the market engulfed in flames during the night.
In photos and videos obtained by Nairobileo.co.ke, firefighters were seen responding to the scene to help contain the inferno.
The firefighters made efforts to extinguish the fire using water from a fire engine, even as the blaze continued to wreak havoc.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The incident comes a few months after a massive explosion rocked Ngara on Sunday, September 1, after a gas facility in the area caught fire.
In photos and videos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, a huge fire engulfed the gas facility, accompanied by a series of loud explosions that kept residents of the area at bay.
Confirming the incident, Nairobi Regional Police Commander Adamson Bungei, who visited the scene, mentioned that property of unknown value was destroyed.
Mr. Bungei said that experts at the scene were investigating the cause of the fire.
No fatalities were reported following the deadly explosion.
