The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 19,943 job vacancies for teachers and administrators across different education levels.
In a public advertisement, the TSC invited qualified educators to apply for positions ranging from Chief Principal to Senior Teacher II.
Among the top leadership positions, the TSC is recruiting 44 Chief Principals for regular schools, three for Teachers Training Colleges (TTC), 126 Senior Principals for regular schools, and three for TTCs.
At the Principal level, there are 652 positions for regular schools, while three slots are open for TTCs.
Additionally, the Commission has advertised 786 positions for Deputy Principal II in secondary schools, three in TTCs, and 1,408 for Deputy Principal III in regular schools.

For lecturers in TTCs, the TSC has invited applications for 13 Senior Lecturer I positions, 32 Senior Lecturer II positions, and 61 Senior Lecturer III roles.
Senior Master positions are equally available, with two slots for Senior Master II in secondary Special Needs Education (SNE), six for Senior Master III in secondary SNE, 1,987 for Senior Master III in regular schools and 2,221 for Senior Master IV.
Additionally, there are also 70 openings for Senior Lecturer IV in TTCs.
The TSC is also seeking 184 Secondary Teacher I positions for diploma holders, seven positions for Lecturer I and 254 slots for Senior Head Teachers in regular schools.
Senior Head Teacher roles in SNE schools have seven openings.
At the primary school level, the Commission has advertised 2,130 positions for Head Teachers in regular schools and 33 in SNE primary schools.
Deputy Head Teacher II roles are the most numerous, with 3,653 positions for regular schools and 33 for SNE schools.
Further, the Commission is recruiting 4,703 Senior Teacher I positions in regular primary schools and 77 in SNE primary schools.
For Senior Teacher II, 1,364 positions are available in regular schools, while 81 are open in SNE primary schools.
TSC noted that interested candidates who meet the required qualifications must submit their applications online through the TSC portal at www.teachersonline.go.ke.
The Commission stated that applications must be received by 30th December 2024, midnight, with candidates who had applied for Advert 1 to 4 of 2024 in November encouraged to reapply.
The TSC said that successful applicants will be posted to schools with existing vacancies.
Further, the Commission reiterated its commitment to equal employment opportunities, encouraging individuals with disabilities to apply.
