The weatherman has disclosed that rainfall is expected in some parts of the country over the next seven days.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has disclosed that rainfall is expected in some parts of the country in over next seven days.

In a weather forecast report on Tuesday, December 17, Kenya Met noted that rainfall is expected in some parts of Western Kenya, the Central highlands, the Lake Victoria basin, the Central and South Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Coast.

The parts of Western Kenya, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Central and South Rift Valley regions include the counties of Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, and Narok.

On the other hand, the parts of the Central highlands expected to receive rainfall include Nyandarua, Nyeri, Laikipia, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi counties.

The South-eastern lowlands will include Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta counties while the Coast will include the counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale as well as the coastal parts of Tana River County.

The weatherman, however, disclosed that  North-eastern and North-western Kenya are likely to be generally sunny and dry.

In terms of temperatures, Kenya Met noted that daytime highs of over 30°C are expected in the Coast, North Eastern and North Western regions of Kenya.

However, some parts of Western Kenya, Central highlands, and Central & North Rift Valley are likely to experience extremely low nighttime temperatures of below 10°C during the period.
