One person has died and 30 others have been critically injured following a road accident in Kinungi area along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
St. John Ambulance confirmed the incident on Sunday morning, December 22, stating that the accident involved a bus carrying passengers departing from Nairobi.
The organization disclosed that its first responders attended to the casualties on the scene before transferring them to Naivasha Sub-County Referral Hospital.
"One person has succumbed to injuries where 30 other passengers were left critically injured following a road crash at Kinungi area along Nairobi Nakuru Highway involving a bus leaving Nairobi full of passengers.
"St. John Ambulance-trained community first responders have attended to the casualties giving first aid and helped in the transfer of the injured to Naivasha Subcounty Referral Hospital," St. Johns Ambulance stated.

The organization did not disclose the cause of the accident but in photos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the bus had overturned by the roadside with members of the public gathered around the scene.
The incident comes just days after seven people were injured following a road accident in Soweto area along the Kinungi black spot in Nakuru County.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, December 10, St. John Ambulance stated that the accident involved a van and lorry which collided head-on resulting in the injuries.
On Thursday, December 19, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi urged road users to be careful during the festive season to avoid tragedies.
