Kenya's Covid-19 related deaths continue to rise after six more patients succumbed to the virus over the last 24 hours. Cumulatively, the country has recorded 1,823 deaths.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health announced 208 new COVID-19 infections from a sample of 3,415 people in the last 24 hours.
The new infections push the total number of confirmed cases and samples tested so far to 104,201 and 1,265,773 respectively.
In terms of distribution, 173 are Kenyans while 35 are foreigners; 147 are male while 61 are female.
Nairobi leads with 128 cases. Nationally, the cases are distributed as follows; Kiambu 27, Mombasa 14, Nakuru 6, Machakos 4, Kajiado 4, Laikipia 4, Meru 4, Uasin Gishu 3, Busia 2, Garissa 2, Kisii 2, Kwale 2, Embu 1, Murang’a 1, Homa bay 1, Kilifi 1, Kirinyaga 1 and Bungoma 1.

In terms of Sub County distribution; the 128 cases in Nairobi are from Westlands (24), Embakasi Central (22), Starehe (12), Dagoretti North (10), Embakasi South and Kamukunji (8) cases each, Mathare (7), Kasarani (6), Embakasi East and Makadara (5) cases each, Dagoretti South and Embakasi West (4) cases each, Embakasi North, Kibra and Lang’ata (3) cases each, Roysambu and Ruaraka (2) cases each.
In Kiambu the 27 cases are from Thika (7), Kikuyu and Ruiru (5) cases each, Kiambaa (4), Juja and Kabete (2) cases each, Kiambu Town and Limuru (1) case each.
In Mombasa the 14 cases are from Mvita (4), Likoni (3), Jomvu,Kisauni and Nyali (2) cases each, Changamwe (1).
In Nakuru the 6 cases are from Nakuru East (2), Naivasha, Njoro, Subukia and Gilgil (1) case each while in Machakos the 4 cases are from Athi River (3) and Machakos Town (1).
In Kajiado the 4 cases are from Kajiado East (3) and Kajiado North (1).
In Laikipia, the 4 cases are from Laikipia East and Laikipia West with (2) cases each. In Meru, all 4 cases are from Buuri.
The case in Embu is from Manyatta, the case in Murang’a is from Maragua, the case in Homa bay is from Homa bay Town, the case in Kilifi is from Magarini, the case in Kirinyaga is from Kirinyaga Central and the case in Bungoma is from Webuye East.
The Ministry of Health has also announced 37 new recoveries pushing the total of recoveries to 85,577.
