Three people, including a child, have been injured after a bus collided with a truck in the Soweto area along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, January 8, St. John Ambulance stated that its community-based responders provided first aid to the injured before transferring them to Naivasha Subcounty Referral Hospital.
"3 people, among them a child, have been injured this afternoon following a road accident involving a bus and a truck at Soweto along the Nairobi Nakuru Highway. St. John Kinungi-based Community First Responders have managed their injuries and evacuated them to Naivasha Subcounty Referral Hospital for treatment.
"We urge motorists to be extra careful when operating along this stretch. St. John Ambulance has established a Highway Community First Aid Post at this area offering free emergency first aid care courtesy of UNHABITAT and the UN Road Safety Fund," St. John Ambulance stated.
In photos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the truck had rammed the bus on its left front side, causing significant damage.

The incident comes weeks after one person was killed and 30 others were critically injured following a road accident in the Kinungi area along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
St. John Ambulance confirmed the incident on Sunday morning, December 22, stating that the accident involved a bus carrying passengers departing from Nairobi.
The organization disclosed that its first responders attended to the casualties on the scene before transferring them to Naivasha Sub-County Referral Hospital.
