Three people have lost their lives following an early morning accident involving a bus along the Londiani-Kisumu Road.

According to the Kericho County Traffic Enforcement Officer Selina Chirchir, the bus lost control when the driver was negotiating a bed at around 4 am on Saturday, January 11.

Consequently, the vehicle veered off the road and landed on its side.

Due to the impact, three people including a child died on the spot. Their bodies were transferred to the Londiani Mortuary for preservation.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that over 10 people were injured and taken to the nearby hospital for medical attention.

Police and rescue teams were also deployed to the scene to help in the evacuation efforts.

The traffic department is also expected to continue with its investigations into the accident.

Meanwhile, motorists were urged to exercise caution on the roads given the number of accidents witnessed during and after the festive season.

According to data by NTSA, over 1,000 people lost their lives in road accidents in 2024.
