"I would ask you to pray for the family of Injendi even as he continues to recover."

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has issued a fresh update on Malava MP Malulu Injendi's health after visiting him at The Agha Khan Hospital. 

Speaking after the visit on Thursday, January 23, Barasa noted that Injendi was responding well to treatment, and thanked the doctors for their efforts in treating the lawmaker.

He also assured the people of Kakamega County that Injendi is doing better, and hoped that he makes a full recovery.

"I'm here alongside other MPs from Kakamega County to join the family of Malulu Injendi and I want to assure the people of Kakamega that we have seen Injendi and he is continuing to recover well. 

"The doctors are doing their best to ensure he recovers and we are satisfied with it. I would ask you to pray for the family of Injendi even as he continues to recover. I want to assure the people of Kakamega that Injendi is doing much better and we pray that he makes a full recovery so that he walks home," he said.

Injendi was hospitalized at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi on Tuesday, January 21.

In an update on social media, Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala confirmed that Injendi was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and undergoing dialysis.

"The Member for Malava Constituency, Hon. Malulu Injendi, is currently in the ICU, on dialysis, and fighting strong. The medical team is attending to him, and he’s responding. Keep him in your prayers," he stated. 

Malala also dismissed circulating rumors about the MP’s health condition, emphasizing that Injendi remains alive and continues to fight for his life. 

"We are with his family at the hospital, and as of 11:02 p.m., our brother is still alive, fighting for his life at the ICU at Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi. Ignore any rumors going around," he added.
