Former Nation Media Group Managing Editor for Audience and Engagement Oliver Mathenge has secured a new role as a consultant with Oxygène Marketing Communications Ltd.
In a statement on Thursday, January 23, Mathenge disclosed that he will serve as an editorial and production consultant at the company.
"I am excited to share that I have kicked off a new role as an Editorial and Production Consultant at Oxygène Marketing Communications Ltd.
"I look forward to learning new things and offering my expertise to deliver the best for all Oxygène’s clients," Mathenge remarked.
His new role comes weeks after he announced his exit from Nation Media Group.

In a statement on December 27, 2024, Mathenge detailed that he was leaving the station to pursue other endeavours but did not disclose more details at that time.
"These past three years have been an incredible journey of learning, collaboration, and transformation, and I am deeply grateful for the experiences and relationships I have built within this organization," Mathenge said.
He added, "As I move forward, I carry with me the valuable lessons and experiences gained during my time at NMG. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and eager to continue contributing to the evolving media landscape."
Mathege first joined NMG in 2007 and worked as a news journalist until 2012.
He later joined Radio Africa Group where he rose over the ranks to become Group Digital Editor for its outlets such as The Star Newspaper, Mpasho, Classic 105 and Kiss 100.
In December 2021, he rejoined NTV as the Managing Editor. In additional changes effected in the company in April 2023, he was named as the Managing Editor in charge of Audience and Engagement, a position he served until his exit.
