The Judiciary of Kenya has called out lawyer Nelson Havi after claiming that the CJ is guarded by 32 officers.

In response to Havi, through a statement on Tuesday, January 28, the Judiciary noted that the information provided by Havi was misinformation.

The Judiciary alleged that the lawyer had purposefully intended to deceive Kenyans.

"This is not just inaccurate-it is purposefully deceptive," read the statement in part.

Earlier Havi had claimed that the CJ was dishonest over the withdrawal of her security given that only three out of the 32 officers had been recalled.

"CJ Martha Koome is allocated 32 known police officers to guard her, a huge number by all means. The temporary recall of three for training and promotion cannot be a withdrawal of her security," the lawyer claimed.

"She must be called out for the dishonesty displayed on this sensitive issue."

Notably, Havi's claims were similar to the figures mentioned by Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen. According to Murkomen, the CJ had 32 officers to guard her and her property.

"The Chief Justice is among public officers who are well taken care of in terms of her security.

"I know the manual says that she is entitled to 6 police officers as bodyguards but the CJ has been given up to 32 police officers," Murkomen stated during a past event.
