Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has confirmed that he is preparing to unveil a new political party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking on Sunday, February 9, Gachagua revealed that the official unveiling is set for May 2025, after which party offices will be opened across the country.
"Our vehicle is ready. It is in the showroom, a brand-new vehicle. However, I will not name the number plate and its colour. Our enemies might sabotage its launch but we will unveil in May 2025 and we will start opening offices and allow all Kenyans to join," he said.
Gachagua declared that the Mt. Kenya region would not support Ruto or partner with him, accusing the president of conning and humiliating the region.
"President Ruto conned us and has humiliated this community. We will never support Ruto; we will never partner in politics and we will never vote for him," he said.

Additionally, in a direct attack on President William Ruto’s leadership of UDA, Gachagua lamented what he described as political betrayal and alienation.
"From today henceforth, our people are done with UDA. We joined this party knowing it's a good outfit, but President Ruto is both the driver and the holder of the logbook, and now he has declared war on us. It's time we get our own vehicle," he added.
Gachagua also took a swipe at Ruto’s perceived attempts to weaken the Mount Kenya region politically, warning that such moves would not succeed.
"I have been asked to look for friends. Our friends have resolved that they will not allow Ruto's plan to isolate the mountain starting with Ukambani which is now known as Mount Kenya South," he stated.
Gachagua had earlier warned Ruto against isolating the Mt. Kenya Region.
Speaking during a church service in Laikipia on Sunday, January 19, he assured the people of Mt. Kenya of his commitment to unity.
"I want to promise you, President Ruto, you will not succeed in isolating the people of Mt. Kenya from the rest of Kenya. You will not succeed in dividing Mt. Kenya East and West; it will not happen," he said.
