The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of low night temperatures of below 10°C in four regions for the next seven days.
In a weather forecast on Monday, February 17, Kenya Met said the cold night temperatures will be experienced in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley region which includes Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi counties.
Other regions that will experience the low night temperatures are; Central and South Rift Valley, and around Mount Kilimanjaro.
“Night-time temperatures below 10°C are expected in some areas of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley, and around Mount Kilimanjaro,” the forecast read in part.
Meanwhile, the weatherman announced that sunny, dry, and hot conditions are expected across most parts of the country in the next week.

However, the Met Department noted that occasional light rainfall may occur in isolated areas around Mount Kenya, the Coastal region, Lake Victoria Basin, and the South-Eastern Lowlands near the Coast region.
Further, the department said temperatures above 30°C will be experienced in major parts of the country except in Central Kenya, Central and South Rift Valley, South-Eastern Lowlands, and Lake Victoria Basin.
“Daytime temperatures above 30°C will be experienced in many areas, except in Central Kenya, Central and South Rift Valley, South-Eastern Lowlands, and Lake Victoria Basin, where temperatures are likely to remain below 30°C,” Kenya Met added.
