A body discovered in a forest in Makueni County on Saturday, January 22 has been confirmed to be that of missing British businessman Campbell Scott.
The new developments were confirmed on Monday, January 24 by Makueni County Police Commander Alice Kimeli.
Preliminary reports indicate that the body was discovered over the weekend by herders at the Makongo Forest.
The body had been stashed in a sack, with other reports suggesting that there might have been strangulation involved in the killing.
A postmortem scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, is expected to shed more light on the mysterious disappearance and death.

The Disappearance
According to Scott's company, the 58-year-old was in Kenya to attend a three-day conference.
He was last seen on Sunday, February 16 when he left the hotel where he was staying mid-morning. After failing to return for lunch and dinner, his colleagues raised an alarm as he could not be reached on the phone.
Reports by British media indicate that the businessman went to a bar that Sunday and took a taxi to a slum afterward.
Meanwhile, police are reported to have detained a taxi driver and a waiter in ongoing investigations to unravel the mystery.
