Speaking after the crackdown, Koskei said the raid is in line with a court ruling that upheld the ban on shisha, dismissing all petitions challenging it.

“We are here to enforce the shisha rules. The ban is in force, and we will continue to ensure compliance,” Koskei stated.

NACADA pointed out that shisha may seem harmless but is dangerous to human beings.

Further, the authority warned Kenyans against consuming shisha adding that those found using it will face the law.

“Let this be a warning to all those flouting the law, NACADA is watching, and no one is above the law,” NACADA added.
