Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has warned Embu residents against missing out on government programs amidst growing criticism of President William Ruto's government.
Speaking in Embu County on Friday, February 28, the Senator acknowledged that the county residents had become one of the biggest critics of the government.
In particular, she urged the residents to join the Social Health Authority (SHA), which was initiated by Ruto.
Nyamu added that she should not be called for harambees if the residents fail to take heed of her advice.
Notably, as she was addressing the congregation, some of the members were heard saying 'hatutaki kuskia' (we do not want to hear about it).

"Even when you fight the government, because I hear you are, register with SHA. Don't let government programmes pass you because of politics.
"When you become sick, you will be on your own. SHA is a world-class programme. It has teething problems. I should not be called for harambees when somebody is sick."
In recent months, Embu has become one of the areas where there has been public opposition to Ruto and his government.
Notably, during a funeral service attended by Public Service CS Justin Muturi on January 3, 2025, residents refused to listen to Ruto's speech that was to be read by the CS.
At the time, Billi Mwangi ( a resident of Embu County)- who was abducted in December 2024 was still missing.
