Public Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni has revealed that the recent mysterious disease in South Mugirango Constituency, Kisii County, was caused by contaminated water.
Speaking in Kisii County on Tuesday, March 4, the PS detailed that samples collected from water sources in the villages revealed traces of faecal matter.
Therefore, she cautioned the area residents to avoid taking the water even as they improve on the hygiene standards.
“It is good to note that we have established that the source of water has faecal matter, which has contaminated the water.
"The samples also taken from the homes have faecal matter," she divulged.
