Machakos County is on high alert following the sudden disappearance of Muthwani Member of County Assembly (MCA) Dominic Maitha.
According to reports, Maitha was reported missing shortly after declaring his intention to table an impeachment motion against Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
Concerns over his whereabouts have been growing, with family, friends, and colleagues raising the alarm over his unexplained absence.
"From Tuesday, March 25, his whereabouts have been unknown, and owing to the fact that last week he spoke heavily concerning the impeachment of our governor, and for the last 15 hours he has been missing.
"His family and friends have not been able to trace him; his two phones are off. We wish to appeal to the members of the public and the security agencies to help establish where he is," Kinanie Ward MCA Francis Kavyu said.

Maitha’s father, John Maitha, also expressed deep concern, revealing that his son was last seen heading to work.
"I was with him and he told me that he was going to work, but this morning (Wednesday, March 25) I got the report that he did not report for work and they have been looking for him. I'm also wondering where he is, and because of that, I decided to report the matter. For those who know where he is, please return my child," he pleaded.
Juliet Muthoni, the missing MCA’s wife, recounted her last conversations with him, detailing his movements before he disappeared.
"He left the house around 7:00 in the morning on Tuesday, March 24, heading to the county assembly. Later in the evening, around 7:30, he called, informing me that he would not be sleeping at home because he was needed at Machakos the following day. We talked again around 10:30 PM, and when I called him on Wednesday around 9:30 AM, his phone was off," she explained.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but pressure is mounting for swift action to ensure the safety of the MCA.
