"We have formed a new political party that we will use to remove President William Ruto and his allies out of power."

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced the formation of a new political party which is said to be launched soon.

Speaking in Ngong Town on Sunday, April 13, Gachagua said the party's man agenda will be unseating President William Ruto and his allies from power.

"We have formed a new political party that we will use to remove President William Ruto and his allies out of power; I will officially launch the party in May. If I invite you to the launch, will you come?" he said.

Gachagua’s statement comes barely a month after he reiterated his plans to set up a political party ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Speaking in Kajiado County on Thursday, March 27, the former DP revealed that the national chairperson of his party will come from Kajiado.

Regarding the 2027 General Election, he announced that the party would be fielding a presidential candidate to challenge Ruto.

Gachagua added that he was also intending to have the party field candidates in all the other elective seats such as Governor, MP, Woman Reps and MCA among others.

"We are building our political party. Our party will be announced in May, and I wasn't to say that our national chairperson will come from Kajiado County. We shall field a candidate for the President, Governor, MP, Women Rep, even for MCA," he said.

Earlier in February, Gachagua stated that offices will be opened across the country once the new party has been launched.

"Our vehicle is ready. It is in the showroom, a brand-new vehicle. However, I will not name the number plate and its colour. Our enemies might sabotage its launch but we will unveil in May 2025 and we will start opening offices and allow all Kenyans to join," he said.

Gachagua declared that the Mt. Kenya region would not support Ruto or partner with him, accusing the president of conning and humiliating the region.

"President Ruto conned us and has humiliated this community. We will never support Ruto; we will never partner in politics and we will never vote for him," he added.
