The Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) has denied reports of increasing entry fees to national parks and reserves.

In a statement dated Thursday, April 24, KWS noted that the reports on the increase of park fees had been circulated on social media, further misleading Kenyans.

It had been alleged that the park fees had been increased by over Ksh7,000, with the new rates taking effect from July 1, 2025.

"We are aware of a misleading message circulating on social media regarding an alleged increase in Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) conservation fees, purportedly effective from 1st July 2025."

"We wish to reassure the public that this information is false," KWS noted in its statement.

Further, KWS added that an increase in park fees has to be done in accordance with the law, with Kenyans also expected to express their view on these changes.

"Any changes to conservation fees are subject to a legally mandated, open, and inclusive public participation process. This ensures that all stakeholders are consulted and fully engaged before any decisions are made," read the statement in part.
