Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja is hospitalized in London, Governor Susan Kihika has confirmed.
Speaking on Thursday, May 1, during an interview, Governor Kihika wished Senator Karanja a swift recovery.
"I want to wish a quick recovery to Senator Tabitha Karanja. I know she is in a hospital in London," Governor Kihika said.
At the same time, the Nakuru Governor slammed Senator Karanja after she questioned her maternity leave.
Kihika argued that children are a blessing from God, and it is not right to attack someone when down.

“Even if you don't agree with someone, you are not supposed to kick them when they are down. I would like the senator to know that kids are a blessing from God," she stated.
Governor Kihika further said she doesn’t have a problem with Senator Karanja, adding that the Nakuru Senator should stick to her lane
“I have no problem with her, she just needs to keep to her lane, do her work, as I also do the same. I know what she wants come 2027, but if you ask me, she is going about it the wrong way. She is going about it a bit personally, and so if I can advise her, I’d say if she has done the work and people can see that, whatever you want, they will give you,” Kihika added.
This comes weeks after Karanja faulted Kihika’s maternity leave, saying the Governor extended her leave without prior notification to the employer.
She also accused Kihika of failing to follow legal procedures for delegating power, saying that when a governor is absent for an extended period, the law requires a formal transfer of instruments of power.
"Our concern is not that Governor Kihika travelled to give birth, as we are happy for her. The issue is that she has effectively been on leave for months," Karanja stated.
"The people of Nakuru are her true employers. Yet, there is no record of any such notification," she added.
