The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has issued a warning to the public regarding a fraudulent TikTok account impersonating the agency.
The account, operating under the handle “ntsaknya,” has been flagged as fake, with NTSA cautioning Kenyans not to interact with it under any circumstances.
In a communication on Thursday, May 15, NTSA stated that it does not operate any TikTok profile and urged members of the public to disregard and report the impersonating account immediately.
The authority emphasized that all official communication is strictly conducted through its recognized platforms, including its X account (@ntsa\_kenya), Facebook page (NTSA KENYA), YouTube channel (NTSA\_Kenya), and its official website (ntsa.go.ke).
NTSA also reminded the public that all service applications and payments are processed securely through the eCitizen platform.

The agency warned users never to share personal information with anyone claiming to represent NTSA outside of these official channels.

NTSA further advised members of the public who may have been deceived or scammed through such platforms to report at the nearest police station.
“If you come across a suspicious account claiming to belong to NTSA, do not engage; report it immediately. Members of the public conned via such platforms should immediately report to the nearest police station for further action,” the statement read.
This comes barely a month after NTSA cautioned motorists against driving while under the influence.
In a statement on Friday, April 18, the authority revealed that 19 cases of traffic violations were recorded along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway in an operation conducted on Thursday night.
Among the offences noted was that there were drivers who were driving while drunk.
Therefore, NTSA warned that the night operations would continue across the country until the incidents of drunk driving are eradicated from the roads.
"19 cases of traffic violations, including drunk driving, were recorded along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on Thursday night. Being a responsible driver is simple: if you are drinking, do not drive.
"Night road safety audits will continue in various parts of the country until there are zero drunk-driving crashes on our roads," NTSA said.
