She wants the court to issue orders directing Parliament and the National Assembly Sacco to give her money for fees and maintenance once she provides the necessary documents.
The nominated MCA has defended her decision to move to court, stating that she is scared Okoth’s widow may disinherit her son.
She further notes that Okoth’s widow; Monica Lavender has not been open with her regarding assets left behind by the former legislator and the amount of money he has in his bank accounts.
“The Executor (Monica) has failed to neither disclose in her affidavit a key asset nor indicate the value of funds held in the bank, shares held in the Parliament Sacco nor the value of the pension,” she said in an affidavit.
Okoth died in July 2019 after a long battle with cancer. Following his death, Ms. Thumbi showed up and revealed that he had sired a son with the deceased.
A tussle ensued, forcing the nominated MCA to move to court. The court ordered for a DNA test which turned out positive.
