Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has announced that the opposition leaders will soon be launching the coalition that will challenge President William Ruto in 2027.
Speaking on Thursday, May 29, at his Muuna Home, Tseikuru in Kitui County, he revealed that a team was already working on the necessary documents of the coalition.
During the launch of the coalition, whose date is yet to be announced, the former Vice President stated that they would unveil the name of the team to lead the coalition ahead of 2027.
He maintained that the opposition leaders were focused on ensuring that Ruto does not get reelected.
"We have the commitment. We shall not relent, neither shall we surrender in making sure that William Ruto is a one-term President and that corruption ends," he stated.

"We have our teams working, and very soon we are going to announce the name and the formation of our winning coalition. Leave alone that one for 2002."

Among the opposition leaders who were present at the event were DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua, DAP-Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa, former Public Service CS Justin Muturi, former Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi, and Peter Munya.
Martha Karua and former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i were absent from the meeting, however, they were represented at the event.
Meanwhile, he expressed that the new coalition would be doing away with tax measures such as the Housing Levy that they termed to be regressive.
On the other hand, Kalonzo cautioned the government against arresting Gachagua.
He claimed that they had received reports on the planned arrest of Gachagua following the remarks that he made regarding the 2007 General Election.
Additionally, the leaders at the meeting demanded that Ruto take responsibility for the Gen Zs who lost their lives in last year's protest, adding that the apology he issued during the prayer breakfast was not enough.
"During the National Prayer Breakfast on Wednesday, I heard Ruto asking for forgiveness if they had wronged us; is abducting and killing people not wrong? What is he apologising for? Ruto, take your purported apologies to Sugoi — you're going to be in power for one term," Muturi stated.
