Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has lashed out at President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet over his recent remarks directed at Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Speaking on Friday, June 6, Gachagua questioned the respect shown to Kalonzo, arguing that Ruto’s choice of emissaries was demeaning to the former Vice President’s stature.
“President William Ruto has sent a class six dropout here (Ukambani) to advise Kalonzo Musyoka, isn’t that looking down upon him?” Gachagua posed.
Gachagua went on to highlight Kalonzo’s academic and political credentials, suggesting that sending a low-ranking individual to engage him was a sign of disrespect.
“Even if Ruto wants to advise Kalonzo, who has a PhD and has served as a minister and Vice President, why would he send a class six dropout?" he posed.

Gachagua also blamed the lack of proper education among Ruto's advisors for the administration’s shortcomings.
“The reason why Ruto's administration is failing is because two of Ruto's advisors are class four and class six dropouts. That's why they were here (Ukambani) to dish out money,” he claimed.
Speaking during an empowerment event in Kitui County on Thursday, June 5, Farouk urged Kalonzo to consider joining the government and taking up a senior national role.
He emphasized Kalonzo's significance in Kenya's political landscape, suggesting that he should "start thinking seriously" about his political future.
"I urge Kalonzo to start thinking seriously about working with his brother William Ruto so that he can be given a position in government," he said.
Kibet's remarks come amid intensifying succession politics ahead of the 2027 general election, where Kalonzo is increasingly seen as a key player in the presidential race.
