Tragedy struck along Kiambu Road on Monday, June 9, after a Metrotrans Sacco matatu was involved in a fatal accident near AAR Hospital.
The matatu reportedly lost control, veered off the road, and toppled onto its side, resulting in two confirmed deaths and leaving several passengers with injuries.
Medical personnel from the nearby AAR Hospital rushed to the scene and promptly administered emergency assistance to the injured.
Images and videos circulating online revealed the magnitude of the crash, with the public vehicle lying on its side as a large crowd gathered around the scene.

This comes barely a week after two police officers lost their lives in a tragic road accident at Matisi area along the Webuye–Bungoma road.
According to police reports, the duo died after the police vehicle they were traveling in collided head-on with an oncoming trailer.
The fatal incident occurred at approximately 1:45 PM and was reported to Webuye Police Station shortly after at 2:00 PM.
The deceased officers were identified as Police Constable Sammy Ngeno, who was behind the wheel, and Sergeant Samuel Yego.
The two were traveling in a police Ford Ranger en route from Webuye toward Bungoma when the collision occurred.
"Due to the impact, our officers sustained multiple body injuries and died on the spot, but their two rifles are safe. Scene visited sketched, and the bodies were moved to Webuye Sub County Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy," a police statement read in part.
The impact of the crash was devastating, with the police vehicle suffering severe damage after smashing into the trailer.
