The school van lost control and veered into a ditch.

One pupil has been killed and several other students injured after their school van was involved in a road accident in Embu County.

The school van, which belongs to Tumaini Emmanuel Academy, is said to have lost control and plunged into a ditch at Kibugu area in Embu.

Preliminary reports indicate that the accident happened on Friday morning after the van had picked the pupils from their homes and was heading to school.

Photos of the accident, seen by nairobileo.co.ke, showed the school van overturned on its side, with the rear window and door destroyed.

Embu locals who arrived on the scene rescued the injured students and rushed them to the hospital for medical attention.

The accident comes days after a bus operated by Super Metro overturned in Juja along the busy Thika Superhighway.

The incident caused panic as the bus rolled and landed on its side, prompting a swift rescue operation by fellow motorists, pedestrians, and local residents.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to offer assistance, as injured passengers were pulled from the wreckage and provided with first aid before being rushed to nearby hospitals for further medical attention.

On Monday, June 9, another accident occurred along Kiambu Road involving a Metrotrans Sacco bus.

The matatu reportedly lost control, veered off the road, and toppled onto its side, resulting in two confirmed deaths and leaving several passengers with injuries.

Medical personnel from AAR Hospital rushed to the scene and promptly administered emergency assistance to the injured passengers.
