KWS has announced a public auction of several items, including motor vehicles and motorcycles.

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has announced a public auction of several items, including motor vehicles, scrap metals, motorcycles, and other assorted goods.

In a notice on Tuesday, July 1, KWS said the auctions, organized in collaboration with Valley Auctioneers, will take place on July 22 and July 25.

The first auction is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, at the Tsavo East National Park in Voi, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The second will be held on Friday, July 25, at the Central Workshop on Magadi Road in Nairobi, also starting at 9:30 a.m.

Items up for auction include motor vehicles, scrap metals, assorted old used tyres, old used motor vehicle batteries, old newspapers and magazines, as well as new motor vehicle and plant spare parts.

Also listed are new and used motor vehicle brake drums and rims, new motorcycles, lawn mowers, and used generators and water pumps.

According to the notice, the auction will be conducted on an “as-is-where-is” basis, with interested bidders encouraged to inspect items beforehand.

Participation requires a refundable deposit of Ksh20,000, payable via M-Pesa or banker’s cheque to the Director General, Kenya Wildlife Service.

Successful bidders must pay a 10% deposit immediately after the fall of the hammer and complete the payment within seven days.

Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

At the same time, the notice indicated that unsuccessful bidders will receive refunds within seven days of the auction.

KWS further notes that any items not collected within 14 days after the auction will attract a daily storage and security fee of Ksh500.

Viewing of items will be allowed from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on normal working days at the auction sites.

Registration begins one and half hours before the auction and will require an official receipt; only registered bidders with a valid number will be allowed into the auction venue.
