The Met Department has predicted that rainfall will persist across six regions this week.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has predicted that rainfall will persist across six regions this week.

In a weather forecast on Monday, June 30, the Met Department said the rainfall will be experienced in Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley.

The rains will also be experienced in the Coastal region, North Eastern, and parts of North Western Kenya.

“The Kenya Meteorological Department advises the public to take note of the following forecast across the country this week: Rainfall is expected in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Coastal region, parts of Northeastern and Northwestern Kenya,” the weather forecast read in part.

The Met Department also predicted that daytime temperatures above 30°C are expected in many parts of North-eastern and North-western Kenya.

On the other hand, parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and areas near Mt. Kilimanjaro will experience night-time temperatures below 10°C.

The weatherman also forecasted cold and cloudy conditions in some parts of the Highlands of East and West of the Rift Valley, South-eastern Lowlands, and the Rift Valley.

Further, the Met Department warned of strong Southerly to south-easterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.86 m/s) over the Coast and Kenya’s territorial waters.

The strong winds will also be experienced in the South-eastern lowlands and the North-eastern and North-western Kenya regions.
