The National Police Service (NPS) has issued a statement regarding plans for Saba Saba protests expected to take place on Monday, July 7.
In a statement on Sunday, July 6, the police assured the public of their readiness to ensure security and public safety.
"NPS wishes to address the public concerning various mainstream and social media posts about allegedly planned Saba Saba protests scheduled to take place tomorrow 7th July 2025 in some parts of the country.
"That notwithstanding, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all Kenyans, and to maintain peace, law, and order," the statement read.

The NPS, however, warned that they will not tolerate any form of unlawful behavior, and that law enforcement will respond accordingly if the situation escalates.
"However, any form of riotous, unlawful or violent behaviour shall be met with the appropriate lawful force to reserve order and protect lives and property," the statement added.
NPS further urged Kenyans to remain calm, go about their activities responsibly, and avoid any involvement in disruptive behavior.
"We urge all Kenyans to remain peaceful and law-abiding, and to continue carrying out their obligations responsibly," the statement further read.
While a section of Kenyans have promised to take to the streets, ODM leader Raila Odinga called for a rally at Kamukunji Grounds.
Speaking on Sunday, he noted that the goals of the 1990 pro-democracy movement have yet to be achieved, pointing to persistent economic struggles and police brutality among others.
"My idea is to call the people and go to Kamukunji, the first place where Saba Saba took place. I will be attending the Saba Saba at Kamukunji to remember those who were killed," he said.
