The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has confirmed the arrest of businessman and TikToker Godfrey Mwasiaga Kakan Maiyo.
In a statement on Thursday, July 10, DCI said the suspect was apprehended over allegedly inciting violence against police officers and their families.
Sleuths traced Maiyo to Kimathi House in Nairobi CBD, where he was operating his business.
“Godfrey Mwasiaga Kakan Maiyo, the suspect behind a viral video inciting violence against police officers and their families, has been arrested. The video had been uploaded to his TikTok account.

The suspect is currently in police custody undergoing processing, pending arraignment in court.
This comes after a video circulating on social media showed DCI officers arresting Maiyo at his office on the evening of Wednesday, July 9.
In the video, Maiyo is heard lamenting his arrest and warning the officers to handle him carefully, cautioning that they might get shocked by electricity.
Following the arrest, Maiyo’s friend claimed they were unable to trace him and that he was not at the police station where he was reportedly taken.
“Our friend Kakan Maiyo was picked up at his Letapeleka Offices (his business) in town (Nairobi) as shown in the video below.
“It is said he was taken to a police station, but he is not there; family and friends are concerned about his safety,” Poet Peetstar wrote on Facebook.
