This is the first time Gachagua has travelled abroad since he was impeached in October 2024.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his spouse, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, have arrived in the US ahead of his tour.

Gachagua and Pastor Dorcas were received by Kenyans living in the US at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington, D.C.

Taking to his X account on Friday, July 11, after his arrival, Gachagua expressed excitement over the warm welcome he received from Kenyans in the US.

“Accompanied by my beloved spouse, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, I arrived at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington to kick off my diaspora engagement with Kenyans in the USA and the international community on issues affecting our beloved country.

“I was warmly welcomed by jubilant Kenyans here, and I am truly excited. The love and support are unmatched,” said Gachagua.

The former Deputy President jetted out of the country on the night of Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

The DCP party leader was seen off at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by his allies, including John Methu, Jane Njeri Maina, and Cleophas Malala.

In a press briefing on Wednesday, Gachagua announced that he would engage Kenyan diaspora communities and members of the international community on the state of the nation.

“Tonight, I will be travelling to the US to talk to Kenyans in the diaspora and the international community about the state of the nation,” he said.

Gachagua’s itinerary in the US includes visits to Dallas, California, Seattle, Boston, and Baltimore, where he will hold town hall meetings and attend social gatherings.
