Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga has sent his aides home due to the rising cases of Covid-19 across the country.
Reports indicate that Governor Rasanga has sent away his driver and bodyguards over fear of catching Covid-19.
He has now opted to guard and drive himself as he goes about his duty as governor.
Governor Rasanga says he will be alone in the car until such a time when the Covid-19 situation is neutralized.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health on Thursday announced that 1,225 people had tested positive for COVID-19 taking the total confirmed infections to 117,535.

In a statement, MoH noted that 142 patients had recovered from the virus, pushing the total recoveries to 89,203.
Unfortunately, 17 patients succumbed to COVID-19, taking the cumulative fatalities to 1,954.
In terms of distribution, the new 1,225 cases are distributed across the several counties as follows; Nairobi 731, Kiambu 197, Machakos 53, Mombasa 41, Nakuru 31, Uasin Gishu 30, Nyeri 27,Kajiado 23, Garissa 11, Meru 8, Nyandarua 8, Kilifi 7, Laikipia 6, Busia 6, Kirinyaga 6, Makueni 6, and Kakamega 5.
Other counties include; Kisii 4, Lamu 3, Bungoma 3, Taita Taveta 3, Kisumu 3, Baringo 2, Murang'a 2, Nandi 2, Narok 2, Tharaka Nithi 1, Trans Nzoia 1, Elgeyo Marakwet 1, Embu 1 and Wajir 1.
Kenyans have been urged to adhere to the set guidelines in a bid to reduce the spread of the virus.
Several leaders had issued an alert that ICU beds are fully occupied, thus the need for Kenyans to ensure they do not put themselves at risk of contracting the virus.
