The African Nations Championship (CHAN) is a tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), featuring national teams composed exclusively of players active in their country’s domestic leagues.
The 8th edition, referred to as 2024 CHAN, is scheduled from August 2 to August 30, after being postponed from early 2025.
This edition's tournament marks history as the first-ever CHAN co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
A total of 19 teams, divided into four groups: three groups of five teams each and one group of four, will compete, with the top two from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.

Group A
Group A boasts a line-up of Kenya, Morocco, DR Congo, Angola, and Zambia.
All matches involving Kenya will take place in Nairobi, alternating between the Moi International Sports Centre (Kasarani) and Nyayo National Stadium.

Group C
Group C fixtures are hosted at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda.
The group includes the home side of Uganda, along with Niger, Guinea, Algeria, and South Africa.
The opening matches take place on 4 August.
Niger faces Guinea at 5:00 PM, followed by a major clash between Uganda and Algeria at 8:00 PM.
Further fixtures in this group have not yet been released by CAF, but matches will continue throughout August at the same venue.
Group D
Group D matches will be held at the historic Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
This group features four heavyweights: Senegal, Congo, Sudan, and Nigeria.
Similarly, specific fixtures for Group D are yet to be published by CAF.

All Group A matches and the final will take place in Nairobi.
Ticket pricing tiers are as follows: Regular tickets are available for Ksh 200, VIP tickets are Ksh 500, and VVIP tickets are priced at Ksh 1,000.

Where will the 2024 CHAN final be played?
The tournament will culminate on August 30 with the final match staged at Moi International Sports Centre (Kasarani) at 6:00 PM.
The stadiums of 2024 CHAN
The tournament will be played across five major stadiums spread across the three host countries.
In Kenya, matches will take place at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi, which holds approximately 60,000 spectators, and the Nyayo National Stadium, also in Nairobi, with a capacity of 45,000.
Tanzania will host games at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam with a seating capacity of 60,000.
Uganda’s matches will be played at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, which accommodates 45,000 fans, while Zanzibar will feature games at the more intimate Amaan Stadium, which holds around 15,000.
