The 2024 edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) is finally here, and for the first time ever, Kenya will host part of the prestigious tournament.
CHAN 2024 is organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and features only players who play in their country’s domestic leagues.
This year’s tournament is historic because it is co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The event officially kicks off on Sunday, August 3, and all eyes will be on the opening fixture; Kenya vs DR Congo.
The opening match will be played at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani, Nairobi, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 PM.

For this particular match, there are two ticket categories; Ordinary tickets priced at Ksh200, and Silver tickets available for Ksh500.
Each person is allowed to purchase up to five tickets in a single transaction, making it easier for families or groups of friends.

Here is a simple step-by-step guide on how to purchase the ticket;

- On the 'Search Team' drop-down menu select Kenya
- On the 'Location' drop-down menu select Moi International Sports Centre then click 'Find Matches'
- Under 'Upcoming Matches' a card for Kenya vs DR Congo will appear. Click on 'Buy Tickets' to view the match details.
- Scroll down and choose which ticket to purchase; 'Ordinary' or 'Silver'
- Once you have picked which ticket to purchase, you will be directed to the checkout page where you can either pay with M-PESA or Card; you will also be assigned a seat.
