Kenya Power has announced planned power outages scheduled for Tuesday, August 12, affecting parts of nine counties across the country.
In a statement on Monday, August 11, the company said the outages, necessary for maintenance work, will occur mainly between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In Nairobi, power will be off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in parts of Parklands, including Parklands Road, Ojijo Road, Wambugu Road, Muthithi Road, and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, outages will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Kimondo Market, Kihuti Market, Kiangondu Market, Thangathi Market, Kiuu Market, Ujamaa Market, Mbugua Market, and adjacent customers.
Meru County will experience scheduled outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., impacting Maua Town, Laare, Athi, Kimongoro, Igembe Tea Factory, Kiegoi Tea Factory, Athiru Gaiti, Luluma, Nyambene Hospital, Methodist Hospital and Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) facilities.

Kiengu, Kinna, Garbatulaa, Kula Mawe, Kiutine, Karichu, Kaboito, Rhino Camp, Kangeta Prison, Njia Boys, Kathelwa, Laare, Mutuati, Kabachi, K.K Market, Antuabetwe, Kamukunji, China State Buulu, and adjacent customers will also be affected.
In Murang’a County, power will be unavailable from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Equitorial Nut Processors, Afrimac, Kaharati Market, Muthithi Secondary School, Wamahiga Secondary School, Igiriro Market, and adjacent customers.
Kirinyaga County will have outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., impacting Mutira Girls, Kathiti Mutira, Karaini Coffee Factory, Riakiana Market, Kiangige Village, Kabonge, Hukoni Village, Kiaragana Market, Karuku Tea Buying Centre, and adjacent customers.
In Kiambu County, scheduled power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will affect Karanjee, Loreto Girls, Tigoni Hospital, Tigoni Police Station, Limuru Golf Club, Brown Cheese factory and Muguga Pyrethrum.
Residents of Kabuki, St. Paul University, Redhill Heights, Solvein Suites, One Redhill, Wet Farm, St. Julian’s, Tropical Heat Karura, Munyaka, and adjacent customers will also experience outages.
Kitui County will experience power cuts from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Mulutu Market, Unyaa, Tiva, Kavisuni, Katulani, Kanyangii, and adjacent customers.
Kilifi County has two zones in Malindi that will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The first zone covers Kwa Chocha, Malindi Airport, Malindi High, Takaye, Thalata Meli, Bawazir, Kizingo, Stage ya Mkikuyu, Continental Home, and adjacent customers.
The second zone includes Billionaire Resort, Malindi Navy, Tropical Village, Blue Key, Marine Park, Karima, Muyeye, Metro, Bush Baby, Mayungu, and adjacent customers.
In Mombasa County, scheduled outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will affect Port Reitz Hospital, PS12, KMTC, SGR Line 2, Rubis Changamwe, Migadini, Magongo, and adjacent customers.
