Mookh has issued a statement addressing concerns over ticket sales for the upcoming Kenya vs Madagascar quarter-final match.

Mookh has issued a statement addressing concerns over ticket sales for the upcoming Kenya vs Madagascar quarter-final match scheduled for Friday, August 22.

In a statement on Tuesday, August 19, the company acknowledged that when ticket sales for the match opened, its system was overwhelmed by automated bots.

“When sales opened at 12pm, our system was overwhelmed by automated bots, preventing genuine fans from securing tickets as intended. Our team is actively working to stop this so that tickets go to fans - not bots,” Mookh said.

However, the company, which is the official ticket distributor for the CHAN tournament in Kenya, reassured fans that steps are being taken to restore services.

"We know how important it is for you to have a fair chance at getting tickets, and we’ve heard your frustration loud and clear. Thank you for your patience and for standing by us. Tickets will be back on sale very soon,” the statement added.

The announcement comes after widespread reports from Kenyans experiencing downtime on the ticketing site.

Fans trying to access the platform immediately when sales went live reported being unable to complete purchases.

Social media platforms were flooded with complaints from supporters who feared missing out on the highly anticipated quarter-final.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased regular ticket prices by Ksh50, bringing the cost from the previous Ksh200 to Ksh250.

The price adjustment comes as organizers anticipate overwhelming demand for the crucial quarterfinal fixture, which is scheduled for Friday evening.

Harambee Stars, riding high on recent impressive performances, seek to make history by reaching the CHAN semifinals for the first time.

The national team beat Zambia 1-0 to secure the spot and finish Group A unbeaten.

Tusker striker Ryan Ogam emerged as the hero, netting the decisive goal fifteen minutes from time to ensure Kenya finished the group stage with ten points.

Ahead of the game, President William Ruto promised that should Kenya defeat Zambia, each player will receive Ksh2.5 million, and Ksh1 million and a house if they advance past the quarter-finals.

"We’ve also agreed on rewards: A win against Zambia next Sunday will earn each player Ksh2.5 million. If they triumph in the quarter-finals, each will be gifted Ksh1 million and a two-bedroom affordable housing unit in a location of their choice," he said.
