The ICT Authority has announced 400 internship opportunities in the Presidential Digital Talent Programme.

The Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Authority has announced 400 internship opportunities in the Presidential Digital Talent Programme.  

In a notice on Tuesday, August 26, the ICT Authority invited qualified recent university graduates to apply for the internship.

The authority noted that selected candidates will undergo a 12-month internship programme in the public and private sectors.

“The ICT Authority invites suitable recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP) Cohort X Intake.

“Through this transformative initiative, the Government is looking for young, talented Kenyans with a passion for ICT and Public Service to undergo a structured 12-month internship programme in both the public and private sector,” read part of the notice.

According to the ICT Authority, the programme is designed to develop and prepare young ICT graduates to take up employment opportunities in the ICT sector and beyond.

The 400 internship slots include: Network & Digital Infrastructure (150), Software Development and AI (100), Information Security (50), Multimedia/Graphic Design and Digital Marketing (50), and Data Analytics (50).

The authority mentioned that applicants must have graduated within the last two years (from January 2023) with a First Class or Upper Second-Class Honours degree or the equivalent from a recognised institution.

Applicants awaiting graduation up to December 2025 must provide a stamped and signed recommendation letter from their university indicating the class of degree to be awarded.

The authority also said recent graduates in BSc. ICT or Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication, Systems/Software, Computer) must have thorough knowledge in their core areas of specialisation: Network & Digital Infrastructure, Software Development & AI, Information Security, Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics.

Further, the applicants must be Kenyan youth aged between 21 and 29 years, unemployed, and should not have participated in any other government internship programme.

Interested applicants are required to complete the online application form via: https://recruitment.digitalent.go.ke/ and attach relevant documents as indicated in the form.

The ICT authority said incomplete applications will not be considered, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to attend the interviews.
