Police have arrested eight men suspected to be part of a criminal gang that has been conducting violent robberies across multiple counties.
In a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday, September 2, authorities revealed the successful conclusion of a months-long investigation that culminated in the coordinated arrest of the suspects in Mtito Andei, Makueni County.
The breakthrough came through a well-coordinated operation executed by the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), with crucial support from the DCI Headquarters Operations Team.
For months, this criminal gang had remained on detectives' radar, consistently linked to a string of violent attacks and burglaries spanning Nairobi, Nakuru, and Mombasa counties.
Intelligence reports revealed that the group's operations and coordination had deep roots in some of Nairobi's most densely populated areas, including Dandora, Kenol, and Kariobangi estates.

One of the gang's criminal acts occurred on the night of August 22, 2025, when they launched a massive assault on Century Mabati Ltd in Nakuru County.
Between 25 to 30 armed individuals participated in this raid, wielding crude weapons as they systematically looted the industrial facility. Their haul included valuable steel coils, expensive machinery, and they even made away with a tuk-tuk before disappearing into the night.
The gang was also linked to a major robbery that occurred in Nyali, Mombasa.
“A major breakthrough came when detectives intercepted a lorry, registration number KBK 616W/ZC 4758, loaded with goods stolen from the Nyali heist. The seizure disrupted the gang’s supply chain and provided vital evidence for the ongoing case,” DCI noted.
During the same operation, police also recovered a Toyota Porte, which investigators suspect served as a getaway vehicle in one or more of the gang's criminal operations.
Among the items seized were crude weapons that matched the descriptions provided by witnesses from various crime scenes.
Additionally, investigators recovered a Century Mabati-branded apron, which directly linked the suspects to the Nakuru industrial facility robbery.
The eight suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue into their alleged criminal activities.
In another crackdown on August 31, DCI officers conducted a separate operation that resulted in the arrest of four additional suspects involved in criminal activities targeting residential properties in Embakasi Sub-county.
The joint operation by law enforcement officers drawn from Embakasi Sub-county, working closely with members of the public, led to the arrest of four suspects involved in a break-in at the Rama homes godowns earlier that day.
Acting on a tip-off, the officers successfully apprehended the suspects: Patrick Mwangi Njue, Patrick Kariuki Karobia, Emmanuel Masika Bichi, and Thomas Mucho Sikulova. The arrests occurred in the middle of loading bags of lentils onto a lorry with registration number KAS 148Q.
The crime scene was thoroughly documented by investigators, and key evidence was secured while the suspects have since been processed pending their arraignment in court.
