A massive fire on Thursday, September 4, erupted at the Katani Villas along Katani Road in Syokimau.
The fire, which broke out at around 7:00 PM, consumed seven houses within the gated community, forcing the residents to flee for their safety.

However, the Machakos County government deployed its emergency crew and firefighters to help extinguish the fire.

The team, with the help of Katani residents, successfully managed to put out the fire at around 9:30 PM.
The authorities are yet to state the cause of the fire or the extent of property damage.

No casualties had been reported from the night fire by the time by the time of publishing this article.
Katani Villas, which is located off Mombasa Road, offers four and five-bedroomed DSQ ultra-modern houses.
The gated community features well-manicured gardens, a swimming pool, and other amenities.

This comes a day after an inferno erupted at the Mashimoni area in Nairobi’s Kibera Estate, leaving several residents homeless.
The fire, which broke out at around 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday night, was reportedly caused by an electrical fault.
The Kenya Red Cross Community-Based Disaster Response Team (CBDRT) was deployed to the scene to extinguish the fire.
“Fire Reported in the Mashimoni area in Kibera. Nairobi City Fire En route, Our Community Based Disaster Response Team (CBDRT)at the scene, working alongside the community members to extinguish the fire,” Kenya Red Cross stated.
Kenya Red Cross also said that the fire consumed 23 households, with three individuals sustaining minor injuries. All were treated at the scene.
“A total of 23 households were affected, and three individuals sustained minor injuries, all of whom received treatment at the scene.
“The Kenya Red Cross Nairobi Branch will conduct a needs assessment tomorrow,” Kenya Red Cross said.
