This comes barely a week after he addressed gatherings in the US where he expressed fears that the August 9, polls could be manipulated to his disadvantage.

Deputy President William Ruto now says his votes on the August 9 polls can't be stolen.

Speaking to Kenyans in the diaspora in the United Kingdom, the DP said he is certain nobody can snatch his victory from him.

This comes barely a week after he addressed gatherings in the US where he expressed fears that the August 9, polls could be manipulated to his disadvantage.

"These votes will not be stolen. If you look at me properly, I am not the type that anybody can steal their votes from. It is not possible. Let me give you my word that this election will not be stolen," Ruto said.

According to the DP, his team's successes in the various by-elections held across the country is a testament that they are poised for a victory.

"We ran against the Handshake team in Msambweni and we defeated them in Msambweni. We ran against them in Juja and we defeated them. We ran against them in Kiambaa and we still defeated them. If they could not steal the votes in Kiambaa, tell me how they are going to steal votes anywhere," he stated.

At the same time, the DP said the Handshake team can only cause violence ahead of the August 9, polls rather than stealing elections.

He said the issue of violence is their main point of concern as the country heads to the August 9, polls.

He, however, maintained that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance team will not allow violence to prevail in a bid to stop them from winning elections.

"They will not steal anyone's votes. The only thing they can do is to cause violence. That too, we will not allow them. That is why you see them complaining in Nairobi that we have told the international community that there must be a free, fair and peaceful election," Ruto stated.

Ruto is in Uk for a host of meetings before jetting back to the country later this week.

The second in command left the country last Sunday for US and UK tours.

After the UK visit, the DP will proceed to Dubai before coming to the country.
