Kyalo Mbobu was shot dead in Karen on Tuesday evening.

The family of slain city lawyer Matthew Kyalo Mbobu has called on the government and law enforcement agencies to expedite investigations and bring to justice those responsible for the fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday evening.

Speaking on Thursday, September 11, Mbobu's family members expressed their profound grief while demanding swift action from authorities.

"Kyalo was a good person. He was so good to me, he has done so many good things for me," Mbobu's mother stated emotionally. "I'm begging the government to intervene and do something about this."

The victim's younger brother, who is also a lawyer, revealed how he learned of the tragedy.

“I learned of my brother's passing through social media," he stated, highlighting the sudden and devastating nature of the loss.

The brother also made a broader appeal for public safety, emphasizing the need for citizens to feel secure in their daily activities.

"We appeal to the government to investigate this. We need a country where we feel safe driving around, walking around, while at our daily hustles, we need not to keep alert wondering when someone might come and attack us."

A close family friend provided insight into Mbobu's character, describing him as a person of integrity whose death has left many struggling to understand the motive behind the attack.

"This was an upright person. I have never heard Kyalo dragged into such things as stealing, wrongdoing, and corruption, which makes this very painful," the family friend stated. "The family is grieving, especially the mother, and we call for justice."

The deadly assault took place on Tuesday evening along Magadi Road in Karen, when Mbobu found himself caught in heavy traffic.
