New details have emerged indicating that President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday night held a lengthy meeting with Raila Odinga at his home in Karen, Nairobi County.
Reports indicate that the President arrived at Odinga’s home at around 6:30 pm and left a few minutes to 9 pm.
The Head of State was reportedly accompanied by former Kiambu governor William Kabogo while Raila was with Senator James Orengo and later invited National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohammed.
Though none of the parties has revealed what was discussed in the meeting, media reports indicate that the Head of State visited Raila to assure him of his commitment to the handshake.

The President reportedly vowed to maintain his push for constitutional reforms and the current relationship between Jubilee and ODM party, amid claims that the latter was pursuing a partnership with UDA party linked to Deputy President William Ruto.
After the lengthy deliberations, the leaders reportedly had dinner after which the Head of State has a private chat with the former Prime Minister.
It is during the private chat that the President reportedly invited Odinga for a tour of development projects in the city. The tour happened on Thursday across Nairobi where Uhuru and Raila jointly opened several roads and inspected a number of ongoing projects.
